Detailed itinerary of 8 days Tale of Serengeti and Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Uganda
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania and transfer to Serengeti National Park.
When you reach the Kilimanjaro international airport our guide will pick you up and embark on your transfer to Serengeti National Park. The drive takes about 5-6 hours, and this time depends on the traffic jam. You will have an en lunch during you transfer as you enjoy the breathtaking views of Seronera Valley. When you reach the lodge, you will check in and have dinner and relax.
Day 2 -3: Game drive in Serengeti
Very early in the morning you will have breakfast, and the lodge will provide you with pack lunch to eat during the game drive. The drive begins from the north near river Mara where you might get a chance to see the wildebeest. You also get a chance to spot different wildlife like Elephants, Hippos, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, Hyenas and lions among others. You will drive around river Seronera where most animals gather to take water and visit the Maasai Kopjes. After the game drive you will head back to your lodge for dinner and resting.
Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, the lodge will provide you with packed lunch to enjoy during your game drive. you will start the day with a wildlife drive in the center Serengeti early in the morning. The savannah is a dynamic environment, and when the restored sunshine begins to light up the entire area, the air is filled with the sounds that the birds produce. Your drive to Ngorongoro gives you a chance to witness the wildebeest’s migration. After the long day of driving, you will check in your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Transfer back to Arusha
After breakfast, you will return to the park with your parked meal so you may have a morning drive into the 600-meter-deep crater. Known as one of the world’s largest volcanic calderas, it is home to more than a million species of wildlife, including the endangered black rhino. Among the other creatures are zebras, buffalos, giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and others. After the game drive you will head back to Arusha, where you will spend the night at your hotel and enjoy dinner.
Day 6: Flight from Kilimanjaro to Entebbe Airport
On day 6 of 8 days Tale of Serengeti and Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Uganda After breakfast our company guide will take you to the Airport for your flight to Uganda. Your flight will land at Entebbe airport where our company guide will pick you up and drive you to Bwindi National Park. You will have lunch in Mbarara. And later you will check into you lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will wake up, have breakfast on the second day of the safari and with your packed lunch meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations during trekking. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas which takes about 30 minutes or more depending on where they are located. When the gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend one hour with the gorillas in their natural habitat learning about their habits, behaviours, taking photos and recording videos. After the one-hour interaction with the mountain gorillas you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the lodge.
Day 8: Drive to Entebbe
You will have breakfast at the lodge after which you will check out. And then drive to Entebbe via Kampala, stopping along the way for lunch. If you have an evening flight out of Uganda, your driver will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport or at a hotel of your choosing when you arrive in Entebbe in the evening, this marks the end of 8 days Tale of Serengeti and Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Uganda
