Detailed Itinerary of the 12 Days Rwanda Uganda Double Gorillas Tour ( 2 Treks ) & Chimps
Day 1: Arrival to Volcanoes National Park
When you reach the Kigali International Airport, you are picked up by a driver guide who transfers you to the Volcanoes National park a journey that takes you 2 to 3 hours. Have lunch en-route as well as visit some Genocide Memorials then later when you reach the Park, check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Ingagi Volcanoes Park View Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking at Volcanoes National Park
Today have breakfast then proceed to the Park headquarters for briefing on conduct around the Mountain Gorillas. Later the park ranger guide distributes you into groups of 8 with another park ranger who leads you into the green forest vegetation habitat to trek the Gorillas for 3-5 hours.
Trek the Mountain Gorillas along different trails following instructions from the park ranger guides with trackers as these report to yo the current location of the Mountain Gorillas in the green forest vegetation habitat. After a while you meet the Gorillas and in an hour you take various photos to keep with you.
When finished with Gorilla Trekking, you return back to your lodge for Relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Ingagi Volcanoes Park View Lodge.
Day 3: Hike towards Dian Fossey Tomb
Dian Fossey Tomb exploration is you prime safari attraction and destination today. After having breakfast you proceed to the base of Mount Bisoke Volcano for short briefing on the conduct while hiking to the Karisoke Research Center then later hike to the Center. The Hike takes you 3 to 4 hours with en-route views of the green terrain, birds. You reach the Center where you learn about the work and sacrifice of Dian Fossey who gave in life to save that of the Gorillas that were hunted a lot at the Time.
After you take photos and staying around the tomb, you return back t your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Ingagi Volcanoes Park View Lodge.
Day 4: Traverse into Uganda to Lake Bunyonyi
Today enjoy breakfast then proceed with all your belongings to traverse the Rwanda Uganda border. When you reach the border provide your documents to finish clearance then later proceed on your journey. Get to Lake Bunyonyi and when here enjoy a Boat Cruise in a canoe to the close by Islands. After your Cruise, return to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Bunyonyi Overland Resort.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park (Ruhija)
Have your delicious earlier at 6:30 am then continue to the stunning Bwindi Forest National Park. Along the way view the green terrain vegetation, birds and lunch. Later you shall reach the Park and check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Ruhija Community Rest Camp.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest (Ruhija)
Today wake up very early in the morning have breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for briefing on conduct around the Mountain Gorilla Group at Ruhija sector.
You are welcomed by a park ranger Guide who shortly briefs you on the conduct around the Mountain Gorillas then later distributes you in groups of 8 with a park ranger who leads you into the forest vegetation habitat to trek the Gorillas for 3-5 hours according to gorilla current location report given by rangers with trackers.
After a while you meet the Gorillas and at a distance of 7 meters take many photos to keep for memories. After Gorilla Trekking, return to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Ruhija Community Rest Camp.
Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Breakfast in the morning then continue via the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for 5 to 7 hours. On your way to the Park watch the Rwenzori Mountains at a distance and have lunch. When you reach the Park watch wildlife animals wander around their natural vegetation then later check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Bush Lodge.
Day 8: Game Drive & Boat Cruise at Kazinga Channel
Early morning breakfast then proceed on Game Drive along various marked tracks in the park watching wildlife animals wander around heir natural habitat. The Game Drive goes till lunch at Mid Day then later after lunch continue to the Kazinga Channel for boat cruise where you shall see schools of hippo, crocodiles beneath the waters and other wildlife along the shores. When finished with the cruise, return to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Bush Lodge.
Day 9: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Go to Kibale Forest national Park after delicious breakfast a journey that gives you views of the green terrain vegetation. Lunch is en-route then later you reach the Park and check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Primates Lodge Kibale.
Day 10: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National Park
Enjoy breakfast then go to the park headquarters where you are shortly briefed on conduct around the Chimpanzees. After the briefing, you go to Kanyanchu Visitor’s Center where you leave from to enter the forest to track the Chimpanzees.
You enter the forest following the Park ranger who informs you about the vast green Kibale Forest and primates-wildlife living since the ancient days. You trek the Chimpanzees for 2-4 hours and when you get to meet them take many photos to keep.
After tracking the Chimpanzees, return to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Primates’ Lodge Kibale.
Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Have your early morning breakfast then with all your things continue to Lake Mburo National Park situated a few kilometers off Mbarara Town. Lunch is at the Igongo Cultural Center then later you embark on en-route Afternoon Game Drive in the park watching wildlife animals wander around their natural habitat. Later you go check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Rwakobo Rock Lodge.
Day 12: Departure to Entebbe Airport
Enjoy your breakfast then with all your stuff, deport back to Kampala or Entebbe International airport to board flight back home.
