Detailed Itinerary: 7 Days Rwanda Safari

Day 1: Arrive to hotel and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Arrive at the Kigali International Airport where you are picked up by a driver guide who transfers you on a City Tour around Kigali as you visit the Genocide Memorials, National Museums as well as the National Market. Have lunch then after proceed to Ruhengeri District of Rwanda at Volcanoes National Park.

You follow the deviating raised canopies and rolling hills of Rwanda then after a while of 2 to 3 hours, you shall reach the park and check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Singita Kwitonda  Lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Early morning breakfast at 6:30 am then after proceed to the park headquarters for short briefing on conduct around the Mountain Gorillas. You shall reach here and you are offered a cup of hot coffee or cappuccino then later go for briefing about the Mountain Gorillas, habitat as well as way of living.

After briefing, you are allocated into groups of 8 with a lead park ranger who shall transfer you to the starting point where you shall leave to enter the green thick forest vegetation habitat to trek the Mountain Gorillas. Follow differing trails in the forest searching for the Gorillas for a period of 3 to 5 hours depending where the Gorillas are then later, you shall meet your Gorilla Trekking family.

On meeting the Gorillas, stay in their presence taking many photos to keep and this should be within an hour. After trekking the Gorillas, you shall return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Singita kwitonda Lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Wake up early morning have breakfast then with your luggage proceed to the stunning Nyungwe Forest National Park located in the South West of Rwanda. You shall drive for some hours enjoying views of the green forest terrain, birds, rolling hills then after a while, with lunch en-route, you shall reach the beautiful Nyungwe Forest National Park. When you reach here, you shall proceed to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Nyungwe hill Top view Hotel.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park

Very early morning breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for short briefing on conduct around the Chimpanzees then later you are allocated in groups of 8.

You are given a lead park ranger who leads you to the starting point at Cyamudongo Forest located a few kilometers off Nyungwe and requires you a period of 1 and a half hours. Reaching here, you shall enter the forest to track the Chimpanzees in their forest vegetation habitat. Track the Chimpanzees for a period of 2 to 4 hours and when you meet them stay in their presence taking photos to keep.

After Chimpanzee Tracking, return to lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight.  Nyungwe hill Top view Hotel.

Day 5: Transfer to Akagera National Park

Early morning breakfast then with belongings proceed on journey to Akagera National Park located in the Eastern part of Rwanda. You shall have lunch en-route then after a while you reach the park and check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 6: Game Drive & Boat Cruise in Akagera

Morning breakfast and transfer to enjoy Game Drive along the varying tracks in the park watching many wildlife animals wander around their natural habitat. Your Game Drives are led by park rangers who will inform you about the various wildlife animals. Get out your binoculars and cameras to take photos to keep.

After the Game Drive at Midday you shall break off for lunch then after proceed to Lake Ihema for Boat Cruise which offers you views of many wildlife animals along the shores as well as crocodiles and hippos beneath the waters. Day 7: Depart to Kigali International Airport

Morning breakfast then with your luggage embark on departure to the Kigali International Airport to board flight back home.
