Detailed Itinerary of the 9 Days Rwanda Primates & Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Hotel

On arrival at the Kigali International Airport you are picked up by a driver guide who transfers you to your hotel for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Five to Five Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

 

Wake up have breakfast then transfer to the stunning Nyungwe Forest National Park and en-route visit the various Genocide Memorials like the Nyanza King’s Palace where you view all kinds of handcrafts like the ceramics, woodcarvings and basketry etc. Break off for lunch in Butare then later proceed to Nyungwe Forest National Park to check-in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest

Wake up very early in the morning have breakfast then transfer for briefing on the code of conduct around the Chimpanzees then later in groups of 8 with a park ranger proceed to the Cyamudongo Forest to track the Chimpanzees for 2-4 hours and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presnce taking various photos to keep for memories. After Chimpanzee Tracking, proceed back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Gisakura Guest House.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibuye town

Wake up very early then transfer via the green tea plantations and Lake Kivu then after a while arrive in Kibuye have lunch then go for Dinner and Overnight at your lodge. Hotel Paradis Malahide.

Day 5: Transfer to Gisenyi then Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast in the morning, transfer North East to Gisenyi and when you reach here, break off for lunch then proceed to Volcanoes National Park at your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mountain Gorilla View lodge.

Day 6: Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park

Wake up very early have breakfast then transfer to the Park headquarters for briefing on the code of conduct around the Mountain Gorillas then later in groups of 8 with a park ranger guide, penetrate the green forest habitat to track the Mountain Gorillas for 3-5 hours and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presence taking various photos to keep for memories. After Gorilla Trekking, proceed back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Day 7:  Transfer to Akagera National Park

Wake up very early in the morning have your breakfast then later transfer to Akagera National Park and when you reach the Park take on an en-route Game Drive to check-in your lodge for Relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Akagera Game Lodge, Ruzizi Tented Camp.

Day 8: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema

Wake up have breakfast then transfer to the Park to enjoy a Game drive along various tracks in the Park watching wildlife like the lions, elephants, buffaloes, bush and water bucks, warthogs, giraffes etc. After the Game Drive break off for lunch then later proceed to the Lake Ihema to enjoy a Boat Cruise on which you view various birds and wildlife animals along the banks. After the Boat Cruise proceed back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 9: Departure to Kigali

Wake up have breakfast then with your luggage embark on a transfer to the Kigali International Airport to board your flight back home.
