By early morning, you arrive at the park reception in Kinigi, where an organized and informative briefing introduces you to the ecological importance of mountain gorillas, the structure of their families, and the strict trekking rules designed to balance tourism with conservation, while also assigning you to a specific gorilla group based on logistical planning and your physical readiness for the hike.

Shortly after the briefing concludes, you proceed by vehicle to the trailhead, where the transition from cultivated land to protected forest becomes immediately evident, and where your trekking experience begins with a steady climb into vegetation that varies from bamboo forests to thicker jungle zones depending on altitude.

The trek itself unfolds at a pace dictated by the movement of the gorillas, with trackers communicating ahead to guide your route, and although the terrain may involve muddy paths, steep inclines, and dense undergrowth, the experience remains engaging as you encounter signs of wildlife activity and absorb the unique atmosphere of the forest.
