Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda – The Heart of Africa
Day 1 of the 10 Days Rwanda and Uganda Safari will start with a pick up from Kigali International Airport by our professional driver guide who will brief you about the 10 Days Rwanda and Uganda Safari. From there, you will be transferred to your hotel. Kigali is one of Africa’s cleanest, safest, and most welcoming capitals perfect for solo travelers.
Upon arrival, check-in, you can take a short city walk or relax at your lodge. If time allows, visit, Kigali Genocide Memorial, a touching historical site that tells Rwanda’s story of resilience and Kimironko Market – great for experiencing local life and buying crafts.

Day 2: Kigali – Volcanoes National Park (Ruhengeri)
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. The journey takes about 2 and half hours. The journey through terraced hillsides and rural villages offers a glimpse into Rwanda’s natural beauty and community life.
In the afternoon, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where former poachers now work as guides and performers sharing Rwandan traditions through dance, music, and storytelling.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
On this day after having your heavy breakfast, here you will go for Gorilla Trekking. You then you will prepare yourself in appropriate clothing and get ready for Gorilla Trekking. You will be transferred to the Parks centre for briefing about the DO’s and DON’T’S by a ranger guide. After briefing, join your group and trek through bamboo forests in search of one of the habituated Gorilla families.
When you finally meet them, you’ll spend a magical hour watching their behavior, playful juveniles, nurturing mothers, and calm silverbacks. This life-changing encounter offers deep emotional connection and appreciation for conservation efforts. Return to your lodge to rest and enjoy a relaxing evening by the fireplace.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda
After breakfast, cross the Cyanika border into Uganda. Your driver-guide will assist with border formalities. Continue to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s most beautiful and peaceful lakes. The name “Bunyonyi” means “place of many little birds,” and the lake is surrounded by terraced hills and dotted with small islands.
Enjoy an afternoon boat cruise exploring the islands including Akampene (Punishment Island) and Bwama Island. This is a great place to unwind after trekking.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, drive north through scenic landscapes to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most diverse savannah park. The drive is about 5–6 hours passes through beautiful farmlands and the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Arrive in the afternoon for a game drive in the Kasenyi plains, look out for elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and, if lucky, lions lounging in the sun.

Day 6: Game Drive and Boat Safari
Day 6 of the Safari will begin with a mouth-watering breakfast thereafter you head out for a morning game drive that will expose you to diverse animals including the Big four— Elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Leopards, Warthogs, Hyenas, and many more species that are residents to this park. There is a rich birdlife such as Marital Eagles, African fin foot, African skimmer, Lesser Flamingos among others. You will go back to the Lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Later in the Afternoon, you head out for a boat cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. Here you’ll see land and water adapted hippos, Elephants, Nile crocodile, Warthog etc. Birds like pelicans, kingfishers, and African fish eagles among others. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Visit Bigodi
Wake up early morning to have breakfast and prepare to exit the park. Drive to Kibale Forest National Park, it takes about 3–4 hours, home to 13 primate species and over 1,400 chimpanzees. En route, pass through Fort Portal, a charming town surrounded by crater lakes and tea plantations. Enjoy a leisurely lunch before checking into your lodge.
In the evening, you can go for a guided nature walk in the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run project that supports local women’s groups and conservation. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 8: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
You will rise up to the sounds of the birds singing in the sky. After breakfast, you will be taken to the starting point of Chimpanzee Trekking where you will meet with a ranger guide to brief you about the Do’s and Don’ts of Chimpanzee Trekking. Thereafter, you will go into the forest for 2- 4 hours searching for chimpanzees depending on their location. Once you locate a Chimpanzee family, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with these close cousins of ours. You will learn about their behaviors, how they feed and protect themselves, ask all questions and take pictures as many as possible. After having beautiful moments with our relatives, you will have lunch and relaxation.
Later, visit a community women’s cooperative, where you can learn basket weaving or coffee processing — a great opportunity for cultural connection and supporting local entrepreneurs.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, depart for Lake Mburo National Park about 5 hours. This is Uganda’s smallest savannah park, known for its zebra herds, impalas, giraffes, and hippos.
Upon arrival, enjoy a walking safari or evening game drive walking among zebras and antelopes is a safe and unforgettable experience for solo travelers.
