6 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Safari
The 6 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Safari will take you to Uganda’s oldest rainforest Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park where you will sight the endangered mountain gorillas. You will also visit the Batwa people who were the early inhabitants of the forest. The capital of primates, Kibale Forest National Park, is a great place to go chimpanzee trekking.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park after arriving at Entebbe International Airport.
Our expert driver guide will meet and greet you at Entebbe International Airport on the first day of the 6-day Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari. Afterwards, your will begin the scenic transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which takes about 8 – 10 hours with enroute stopovers. You will have lunch in Mbarara city. You will check into your lodge for dinner and the night after arriving.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking – Batwa Encounter
On this day, you will go gorilla trekking after a hearty breakfast. After that, you will dress appropriately and be ready for the gorilla trek. A ranger guide will take you to the Parks Center so they can advise you on the DOs and DON’Ts. Join your group after the briefing and set off to find one of the habituated gorilla families by trekking through bamboo forests. When you do get to meet them, you will spend an enchanted hour observing their behavior—calm silverbacks, playful juveniles, and loving mothers. Deep emotional connection and respect for conservation efforts are provided by this transformative experience. Go back to your accommodation to unwind and recuperate. Later in the evening, you will visit the Batwa people for a cultural encounter.

Day 3: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park and go on an evening game drive
Drive north through picturesque scenery to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the most varied savannah park in Uganda, after breakfast. Beautiful farmlands and the Rwenzori Mountains‘ foothills can be seen during the five to six-hour drive. Look for elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and, if you’re lucky, lions relaxing in the sun when you arrive at the park for a wildlife drive over the Kasenyi plains.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park after an afternoon boat cruise and morning game drive.
Day 6 of the Safari will begin with a mouth-watering breakfast thereafter you set out for a morning game drive that will expose you to varied animals including the Big Game Elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, warthogs, hyenas, and numerous other species are found in this park. Marital eagles, African fin feet, African skimmers, and lesser flamingos are just a few of the abundant fauna. For lunch and rest, you will return to the Lodge.
You take a boat ride on the well-known Kazinga Channel, a natural canal that links Lake Edward and Lake George, later in the day. Hippos, elephants, Nile crocodiles, warthogs, and birds like pelicans, kingfishers, and African fish eagles can all be found here. After that, you will travel to Kibale National Park for dinner and the night.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking – Bigodi Wetland
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for briefing before you proceed to track man’s closest relative of all the apes- the chimpanzees. These will take you between 4-6 hours to find and once you find them you will be allowed 1 hour in their presence watching them go about their way of life. Track and then head back to the resort for lunch.
After lodge, you will head out for the Bigodi wetland walk-4.5km walk along the rich wildlife corridor of Kibale forest. This is a 3 hours walk that allows you to interact closely with the forest and spot a number of bird species such as the Kingfishers. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer back to Entebbe International Airport
The 6 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Safari ends today. You will have a delicious breakfast and get ready to be transferred with a stopover at the Equator line in Masaka for photos and experiments of the northern and southern hemisphere. You will then proceed to Entebbe international airport for your flight depending on your flight schedule or your hotel.
