Habituation is the gradual process of familiarizing chimpanzees with humans in order to make them more at ease in their company. Over time, these chimp groups can be monitored as a component of a typical chimpanzee excursion. The chimpanzee habituation procedure also provides the rangers with an opportunity to acquire further knowledge about the behavior of the chimpanzees.

The entire process requires a minimum of three years to finish. Being a part of the habituation team offers a unique and unparalleled opportunity to gain extensive knowledge about chimpanzees compared to a regular journey. However, it is important to possess patience in order to be successful in this endeavor.

The Chimpanzee Habituation Experience is only offered in Kibale National Park. The hiking is more arduous than a typical chimp trip due to the presence of non-habituated groups residing in the remote parts of the forest, away from the more used paths, and their tendency to relocate swiftly.

This used to be a full day  experience commences at approximately 6am when the chimpanzees awaken, and concludes at around 7pm  but currently the experience ends by mid day  and you call it a day ,  but  chimps construct new nests and prepare for sleep every day, and much as they always move, chimps don’t spoil the old nest since they can reuse the nest another day  other activities here are chimpanzee integration and monitoring  its also done  in this forest . Throughout the day, you observe them engaging in their routine activities: nourishing themselves, pursuing prey, monitoring their territory, taking breaks, and tending to their offspring.
